Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer hailing from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she was able to begin gaining attention. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut songs online in the year 2012. Her first album was five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her music on the internet in 2014, with the release of her independent single Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes and at Sweat It out on 21 July 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Later in the season, the music was circulating all over Dreamville. On December 8th that she had joined Dreamville Records. The Album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat, along with Cozz. Then, in October 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she performed as a guest on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The debut single, called Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a unreleased music videos. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 the singer released two new singles entitled The No One as well as Pdigree. They then collaborated in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track called Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 for her debut album of the same title. The 20th of February, 2019 the music video was made available for the song. It already has more than three million views on YouTube during its initial week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
